The table illustrates how people in the US used the internet. It shows the percentage of share time during 2009 and June 2010 and the percentage of change in share of time for The Nielsen Company.
As you can see, there were increases in the share time at social network, online games, email, videos/movies and search. However, there were decreases at portals, instant messaging, and multi-category entertainment. There were no changes in software manufacturers and classifieds/auctions .The most popular activates in both year were social networks. It was about 15.8 percent in 2009 and then it growth to 22.7 percent. The second activates popular in 2009 was Email it’s about 11.5 percent, but in 2011 this percentage decreased to 8.3 percent. However, In 2011 the second popular activates was online games which was 10.2 percent. The lowest popular activates in both year was classifieds/auctions, they were 2.7 percent in both years.
